| Walking & Swimming |
| |
There are unlimited walking opportunities within a 30 minute drive from Plockton, but there are also good walks to be made from the village itself, including the (essential) brae walk, the lochside walk to Duncraig Castle, and the hike up to the television mast. There are also organised group walks available, in and out of the village. |

Our walking and swimming page give you all the information you need as well as the best swimming beaches in the area, and details of the local swimming pool. |

| Touring |
| |
Many visitors use Plockton as a base to explore the Isle of Skye, with its rich history and incomparable Cuillin mountain range. Skye can be toured in a day, although that would not do justice to it. |
| |
Just as accessible for a day trip is Applecross via the demanding Am Bealach road. |
| Nightlife |
| |
Evening activities are based around music in the hotels and bars of the village, and concerts and ceilidhs in the village hall. Details are posted on the notice boards of the Plockton Stores, and the hotels. |
