| Rare Breeds |
| |
Not strictly wild but a great visit anyway, at Craig Highland Farm, a Rare Breeds Conservation Centre. See and feed unusual sheep, goats, ponies, pigs, llama, owls, rabbits and fowl. |
| Bright Water |
| |
The
Bright Water Visitor Centre, set on the pier at Kyleakin
on Skye, opposite Kyle of Lochalsh, is dedicated to local wildlife
and the local history of the area, with activities for visitors of
all ages, and a shop selling quality local products and hand made
crafts. |
| |
Boat trips are run the short distance to Eilean Ban, the White Island, underneath the Skye Bridge. A warden will guide you through the island's history and show you the wildlife hide, the nature trail to the lighthouse, and the cottage once occupied by Gavin Maxwell, author of Ring of Bright Water, and famed otter naturalist. |
