| In a lacklustre performance, Plockton
snatched a 1-0 victory with an Ali MacQuarrie goal in the 86th
minute. Although Plockton had the large majority of the action,
they just couldn't break down a hard-working Sleat/Strath Juniors
defence who came within four minutes of earning their first
ever point in the Skye & Lochalsh league. |

| A severely under strength Plockton
travelled to Sleat but came back with a point. Ewen Amos, home
from Edinburgh for his father's 60th birhday celebrations, put
the boys in yellow ahead in the first half, but the home team
quickly equalised. Despite a lot of chances Plockton couldn`t
find another goal. The shock score of the w/e was league champions
Portree's home defeat by Dunvegan which makes for a very competitive
season. |

| Plockton turned on the style with
an emphatic 8-0 away win against Bernisdale. A Colin Anderson
hat trick, two penalties from James Finlayson, two goals from
Gordon Mackenzie and a Russell Baynham header earned Plockton
all three points. A great performance from Plockton who apparently
played some neat passing football. |

| A comprehensive 7-2 victory for
Plockton. Young Jamie Innes opened the scoring in 15 minutes
followed by two goals from James Finlayson. Michael Matheson
scored the fourth to give the home side a 4-0 half time lead.
A Bertie Urquhart lob into the Juniors goalmouth ended up in
an own goal. The Juniors pulled a goal back with a good strike
from a free kick on the edge of the box. A Colin Anderson header
made it 6-1 before sloppy defending let the Juniors in for a
second. Storming Norman Finlayson scored Plockton's seventh
with two minutes to go. This game marked the debut of 14 year
old Jamie Bliss who shows great promise for the future. |

| Plockton progressed to the semi-finals
of the Ross Cup with a comfortable 3-0 away victory over Portree
Juniors. Although Plockton dominated the first half they couldn't
find the net. Within two minutes of the restart James Finlayson
struck. Further goals came from Ali MacQuarrie and Colin Anderson.
Plockton are joined in the semis by Dunvegan, Portree and Struan
for the draw which will take place this coming Monday. |

| Plockton suffered their first
league defeat of the season going down 5-2 to Portree. Plockton
were three goals down in the space of twenty minutes. They lost
another before James Finlayson scored two early in the second
half, one direct from a free kick. This gave Plockton some hope
and there were some more nervous moments for Portree before
they wrapped up the points with a fifth near the end. |

| Colin Anderson opened the scoring
for Plockton in two minutes with a great strike from 18 yards
following a superb pass from James Finlayson. Kyle equalised
two minutes later. Plockton had two more chances to go ahead
before Kyle scored twice as a result of failures to clear corner
kicks. The first twenty minutes of the second half were all
Plockton but they couldn't put the ball in the back of the net.
The inevitable happened and Kyle scored twice more to give them
a flattering 5-1 victory which means they will have a home tie
against Sleat/Strath in the semi-final of the GF MacRae cup. |

Plockton |
| Plockton were involved in one of
the most bizarre games of the season. Leading Portree by three
goals after only 25 minutes play they then conceded a penalty
and trailed Portree 4-3 at half time. The Plockton lead was
restored early in the second half and with 15 minutes to go
were ahead by 6-5. Two late goals from Portree gave the boys
in maroon a 7-6 victory and who had played throughout with only
ten men. The typical reaction from the Plockton players was
'gutted' . Although Plockton also hit the bar twice, this was
a game they should have won. |
| Plockton goalscorers were James Finlayson
(2), Ali MacQuarrie (2), and Colin Anderson (2). |
| The Ross cup was
donated to the Plockton Football club and subsequently to the
Wester Ross FA in memory of Alasdair Ross, a nephew of the late
Maben MacLennan of Plockton. Alasdair was a pupil of Glenalmond
Academy in Perthshire and died playing rugby for his school.
The pitch used by Plockton FC was gifted by his family to the
community as a sports facility and is named in his memory. Plockton
FC first won this trophy in 1960 and great celebrations were
had when the team returned victorious to the village. |

Plockton recorded a good 5–4
victory against a Struan side who are always difficult to beat
on their home soil. Struan took the lead but Plockton quickly
hit back with an equaliser by top goalscorer James Finlayson.
Struan went ahead again before Gordon Mackenzie levelled again
before half-time. Plockton had to fight back twice more through
goals by Colin Anderson and James Finlayson before James sealed
all three points and his first hat-trick of the season five
minutes before the end. In between times James had a brilliant
25 yard freekick disallowed by referee Wyness.
This victory puts Plockton in second position, five points behind
Kyle but with a game in hand going in to the local derby clash
on Friday. Not to be missed. |

| Plockton came within two minutes
of defeating league leaders Kyle. Kyle led 2–0 at half
time but a magnificent fight-back by Plockton started with James
Finlayson scoring from the penalty spot, Colin Anderson equalising
and once again top marksman James Finlayson putting the boys
in yellow ahead 15 minutes from the end. This quietened the
large and voluble Kyle support who were subdued until Mamaxs
88th minute headed equaliser as the result of Plocktons failure
once again to defend a corner kick. Maybe more practice on the
training ground is needed in this department! Final score Plockton

| A convincing 4–1 victory
for "Storming Norman's Bumble Bee Army". Plockton
went behind after twenty minutes when Stuart Innes conceded
a free kick twenty yards from goal which was scored direct by
Kyleakin's George Nisbet. Plockton were soon on level terms
when a James Finlayson cross was deflected into the net by one
of the Kyleakin defenders. Colin Anderson made it 2–1
and James increased it to 3 to make the half time score 3–1.
Despite numerous chances in the second half, Plockton could
only find the net once more when Colin scrambled home his second
of the game. This was an important victory on a very small and
narrow pitch at Kyleakin and keeps them in contention at the
top of the league. |

Plockton |
| After their good midweek win,
Plockton came crashing back to earth when Ross Cup winners Dunvegan
inflicted a heavy defeat on their fellow title challengers.
Plockton's only goal in the first half came through James Finlayson
to let the home side lead 3–1. With Dunvegan ahead 6–1
late in the game, James and Gordon Valle pulled two goals back
before Dunvegan scored their seventh. Plockton were without
some key players for this game and hopefully they will have
returned for the return match on 12 July. |

| Plockton's hopes of winning the
Bagshaw League Championship have all but disappeared after going
down 5–1 to Portree at the Ross Park. Both teams could
only muster 11 players each and no substitutes for this important
clash. Plockton went two goals behind against the run of play
after 30 minutes. Although Ali MacQuarrie pulled a goal back
shortly thereafter, Portree went on to score another two in
the second half. A disappointing result and a very poor turnout
to watch two teams at the top half of the table. |

Dunvegan |
| The closest Plockton came to scoring
was a first-half strike from Ali MacQuarrie which came of the
underside of the bar and was turned away to safety. Two evenly
matched teams slugged it out in midfield and an opportunistic
shot from Dunvegan halfway through the second half was enough
to give them all points and keep up their challenge at the top
of the league. |

Sleat/Strath |
| Plockton turned in in one of their
best performances of the season in securing a 4–1 victory
over Sleat/Strath. Sleat/Strath, victors in the GF MacRae Cup,
were virtually at full strength and went ahead in two minutes
due to the inability once again of Plockton to defend a corner
Kick. Ali MacQuarrie equalised from an acute angle after twenty
minutes in an otherwise uneventful first half. Plockton were
a reformed team in the second half and went ahead in the 50th
minute when Colin Anderson capitalised on good refereeing by
Robert Sheddan to put Plockton ahead. A tremendous 35 metre
cross from Gordon MacKenzie and a 'Lawesque' header from James
Finlayson put Plockton 3–1 up. Shortly afterwards, a good
cross from Colin enabled Ali to head home the fourth. The second
half display was one of the best displays of the season and
should give confidence to the Yellow Hammers going forward to
the last trophy of the season. |
