| Welcome to
the Plockton Primary school web pages. We are very pleased to
be a part of plockton.com and this reflects the close relationship
between the school and its community. The purpose of these pages
is to tell you about the work and activities of the school.
Roughly once a week we will present some short pieces about
the life of the school. |
| We hope you enjoy these web pages, for year 2007–08. |

Castles & Historical Sites
Anns an Ògmhìos, rinn an clas Gàidhlig
turas gu caistealan agus àiteachan eachdraidheil eile.
Dh'fuirich sinn ann an ostail-òigridh ri taobh Loch
Laomainn agus shiubhail sinn gu Sruighlea, Dùn Èideann
agus Am Peairt. Bha spòrs gu leòr againn!

Raasay Trip 2007
Air latha brèagha samhraidh chaidh
sinn gu Eilean Ratharsaidh. Rinn sinn uilebheistean a'
cleachdadh stuth mar clachan, feamainn, agus fiodh a lorg
sinn air an tràigh. Fhuair sinn greim bìdh
aig an Taigh Mhòr, agus shiubhail sinn air aiseag
agus air bus.

Activities on the Thinklinks
trip
Plockton Primary went on a Thinklinks trip
to Ireland. Only the P4-7 went on the trip. It took five
and a half hours to get there! As soon as we were there
we met the other schools, then we went for tea. After dinner
we did a gym activity with Jackie and Gemma. After all the
games we had free time. The girls from Plockton Primary
stayed up until 12.00 at night! It was very tiring. At the
folk park I made a corn dolly.
Lasardo, Caz and Liam made
fire pokers, real ones with red hot metal. Alysha, Coleen
and Megan did American woodcraft and made a mallet.
Visit to Ulster and
Donegal
P4-7 went to Northern Ireland to meet St
Mary’s and Steelstown at the Ulster American Folk
Park in Omagh. St Mary’s are from Liverpool and Steelstown
are from Derry. We went to meet them because we were doing
a Think Links project with them over the Internet.
The next day we went back to the Ulster
American Folk Park to get a tour of the Little Village.
Then we went for lunch. Then we got split into groups and
went to workshops where we made lots of different things.
Then we had dinner. After that we went to a barn and did
a barn dance. About 30 minutes later, we played games and
went back to the hostel.
The next day we went to Doagh Famine Village
in Donegal and had a look around. It also had an IRA safe
house and we saw the secret passages. It is now open for
us to learn about the peace process. Then we travelled to
Derry and stayed at a different hostel. The next day we
travelled home.
My favourite memory was when we did the
barn dance. First we did some tasks then we went to the
barn. We first did the dance then we played hot potato.
